This is my first series of sculpture. I represent words that are important to me by carving the words themselves in the ball. The words are: "Peace", "Able", "Serve", "Idea", "Order", "Valor" and "Kind" and were made in that order. The elements of each piece, a word spelled by a ball, a wing, a tail, and a base, evoke, for me, the feeling around each word. The patina also changes to add to my expression of these powerful words.

Just at this time I had convinced the Johnson Atelier to allow me to cast pure copper so only the first, "Peace", is cast in bronze. After producing one a week, I tired of the base design so "Kind" is coming out of the mouth of a frightening face."Kind" has a thin, translucent heat patina which showed the purple, reddish color of copper on the smooth flushed mask. "Kill'em with kindness" was my retort to people who wondered how to deal with others when emotions ran high.
